How To Compare Installer Quotes
Two quotes can look the same and not be. Line them up on the same terms.
Get These In Writing
- Battery brand and model, usable capacity, and continuous power.
- Which circuits are backed up and whether a new subpanel is needed.
- Total price including permits, interconnection fees, and electrical upgrades.
- Warranty length, what it covers, and who honors it if the installer closes.
- Payment terms: cash, loan, or lease, and the total you pay over time.
Check The Installer
- State contractor license and electrical license, looked up on your state board website.
- Insurance and recent local installs you can verify.
- Complaints on your state attorney general or Better Business Bureau pages.
Take Your Time
A good offer will still be there tomorrow. Be wary of countdown pricing and of anyone who will not put terms in writing.
